About Our School
Kiski Area East Primary School has been a fixture in the Pittsburgh suburb of Vandergrift, Pa for over 100 years. Our building has served the community as both a high school and elementary school, currently teaching grades K-4 to over 400 children! In fact, many of our building staff attended this very school as children themselves.
Our unique "in town" location provides opportunities that other schools may never get to experience, such as our recent Bike Bus, where students, teachers and district administrators met at a central location to bicycle to school together on a crisp autumn day!
We work with community members, local law enforcement, fire companies and a great PTO to engage the children and families with opportunities to learn while having fun. We welcome the Vandergrift Police every winter to "Serve" quite literally, as they volunteer to work lunch duty, feeding over 400 children! The Vandergrift VFD comes annually to provide fire safety demonstrations to the students. Our PTO and staff host community engagement events such as Family Reading Nights & Truck or Treat, as well as various activities, parties and other events throughout the school year!
We boast a diverse demographic that covers a large area of the community. Our teachers, administrators, support staff, food service staff and volunteers strive to make a positive impact in the lives of the children that we serve every day.
